William James Adams Jr., better known as his stage name will.i.am, is an American rapper, singer-songwriter, record producer, television personality, entrepreneur, and actor, who rose to fame as the founding and lead member of the group the Black Eyed Peas. Will was born in Los Angeles, California, and he found his love for music at a young age and while studying in Los Angeles, Will met friends Pasquale Rotella and Allan Pineda, the latter of which would be a member of the Black Eyed Peas. Will and Pineda began performing together in various clubs and went on to form a rap group with Atban Klann. Will found the basis of Black Eyed Peas through his love of rave music, rap, and pop. While performing locally in Los Angeles, Will and his group were founded by Eazy-E who signed them to Ruthless Records. After the passing of Eazy-E, Will and the group changed their name to Black Eyed Pods, before settling on Black Eyed Peas. They then began recording their debut album, “Behind the Front,” and then signed to Interscope Records which led to them releasing their second album, “Bridging the Gap.” Although Will is best known for his work with the Black Eyed Peas, he has also released music as a solo artist and has released four albums with his fourth album, “#willpower,” earning BPI gold and RMNZ platinum. His most popular singles include “This Is Love,” “Scream and Shout,” “#thatPOWER,” “Fall Down,” “Feelin’ Myself,” and more.
