King Crimson get its start in 1967, when drummer Michael Giles and his brother Peter Giles, set out to find a lead singer for their new band. That’s when they found Robert Fripp. They got right to work recording their first album “The Cheerful Insanity of Giles, Giles and Fripp” in 1969. Their second album, “In the Wake of Poseiden”, released the very next year. At that time, their career began to take off. In July of 1969, King Crimson played the Rolling Stones free concert in London to half a million people. They made their U.S. debut at Goddard College in Vermont and very quickly grew incredible critical acclaim. The following 11 albums, released up until 2003’s “The Power to Believe”, received more and more positive press and further expanded the fanbase across the globe. Since 2013, they’ve been out of hiatus, playing shows with seven or eight people onstage, as well as releasing live albums and reinterpreting some of their most beloved classics in their 50 year career..
