What started out as a solo project at Purchase College in Stevie Knipe’s dorm room in 2012 has turned into something huge. Now, Adult Mom is a little more than a solo project, but Stevie is very much the face of the band – the band, being a little more than a collaboration between singer-songwriter and musicians Bruce Hamilton, Allegra Eidinger, and Olivia Battell. Adult Mom is an indie band that writes pop songs about heartache, growth, trauma, and navigating the world as a gender queer individual. Their first EP, recorded in Stevie’s bedroom, is cleverly titled “Bedroom Recordings”. The EP got everyone’s attention and they subsequently signed with Tiny Records. After releasing four more EP’s over the next two years, Adult Mom dropped their studio album debut “Momentary Lapse of Happily” in 2015. Two years later, Adult Mom released “Soft Spots”, their last record for Tiny Engines. After being signed to Epitaph Records, they released “Driver” in 2021. Stevie’s lyrics really go after the soft spots we all have and that need to be tended to.
