Ummet Ozcan was born in August of 1982. He is a Dutch DJ, musician, and record producer from Putten, Gelderland who is of Turkish heritage. Ummet signed with Spinnin’ Records and subsequently collaborated with DJ’s like Armin van Buuren, Sander Van Doom, Calvin Harris, Hardwell, Tiesto, amongst others. Ummet is known as a DJ and producer with a distinct “softsynth” sound and a soundbank design that caters to well established software houses like Rob Papen and hardware unites like Access Virus. He is known for his major hits like “TimeWave Zero” and “Arcadia” which were both released under the Doom Records banner, along with “Shamballa” under Reset Records. Both of those are sublabels of the bigger Spinnin’ Records. Earlier on in his career, his music was very techno-influenced and trance, released under Reset Records. But after a while, his music turned into more of an EDM sound, which became a massive movement, partially thanks to the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas. In 2012, he made appearances with Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, along with R3hab. Recently, he’s taken an interest in other genres and eventually moved away from that big room house sound.
