Flava D (AKA Danielle Gooding) is a U.K. based grime, bassline, and garage DJ and music producer. After making a big splash in 2012, she was signed to Butterz but has since signed to Hospital Records. During her childhood in Birmingham and Bournemouth, she really got into the U.K. garage scene, listening to artists like DJ EZ, one of the biggest pioneers of genres. Like many garage artists before her, she got really into pirate radio stations. She worked at a record ship when she was a teenager, where her boss was a DJ who really encouraged her to start using Ableton to start producing her own music. Flava D started out by producing grime and hip hop and uploaded them online for free. She got a lot of attention and Butterz reached out to her, especially after they heard the song “Hold On”, which she released in 2013 after her “Strawberry EP” and “BRVIP003” dropped. Flava D went on to released numerous singles and EP’s, with the most recent release being “All We Ever” in 2021 under Hospital Records.
