Killing Joke Booking Agency Profile

Killing Joke is a heavy metal and industrial rock band from Notting Hill, England. They first formed in 1979 when lead vocalist and keyboardist Jaz Coleman decided to get together with drummer Paul Ferguson, guitarist Geordie Walker, and bassist Youth. Their debut self-titled album released in 1980 and for the next four years, they released an album annually: “What’s THIS For…!”, “Revelations”, and “Fire Dances”. Their next album “Night Time” came out in 1985 and a year later, “Brighter Than a Thousand Suns” was released. They released nine more albums – one of which was another self-titled album – and with the most recent one, “Pylon”, being released in 2015. Killing Joke features all of the original members from 1979, but they’ve also had some past members join the band: the late Paul Raven, Martin Atkins, Dave "Taif" Ball, Geoff Dugmore, Reza Udhin, and Ben Calvert. The band has always been known for their provocative image and for using shocking imagery on their albums and on stage for the sake of entertainment. The band became the subject a documentary film The Death and Resurrection Show which was shown at different festivals in 2013 and 2014. The movie features interviews from the likes of Dave Groh, Alex Paterson, Peter Hook, and Jimmy Page..

The final Killing Joke booking price is contingent on many variables and the booking fee we may show is based on a range derived from our past experience with what will Killing Joke charge for an event. An example fee to book Killing Joke is in the starting range of $15,000-$24,999. However, any recent popularity change would cause a price fluctuation well beyond this example. Also, their speaking fee might be different than the fee shown for the cost to perform or to just appear. Popularity, career stage, along with current demand will cause fluctuations in their speaking price as well. The final booking price may be more than what is shown, but you should at least have a budget within that range for them to consider an appearance, performance or speaking engagement.

We will negotiate with the Killing Joke agent on your behalf if your funding is in place. By not having funding ready then it will more difficult to book Killing Joke, because they get many offers to work events that are at or above asking price. It is also important to consider the travel costs when researching the Killing Joke booking fee, as additional expenses like this, as well as an entourage of staff and equipment, are not necessarily built-in to the booking fee range shown. If your budget does not factor that in, then there is no benefit for them to want to be hired. We do not personally speak for Killing Joke, but in our experience in booking talent for over 25 years, this is generally the outcome of inadequate funding.
