George Vernon Willborn II was born in Chicago, Illinois and began his comedy routine at a Memphis comedy club called Sir Laughs A Lot in 1987. His first big break was being the house MC at All Jokes Aside in 1992. All Jokes Aside is Chicago’s first primarily African American comedy club. He shared the stage and befriended comedy greats like Jamie Fox, Bernie Mac and Steve Harvey. He remained there for 7 years which is where he developed his nickname as The Stress Reliever. He is known for saying, “I’m here to relieve whose stress, your stress!” Because of his vast popularity, George went on to perform on many comedy tours, national stage plays and currently various comedy clubs, including Improvs and Funny Bones, across the country. He has done some television work on MTV’s The Real World, HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, BET’s ComicView, and Showtime at the Apollo. George also has a radio career that started back in 1996 on Clear Channel’s WVAZ V103, The Mond Squad. Later on, George commuted from Chicago to DC as co-hosts on both Michael Baisden Show in the afternoon and in the morning on The Real DC Morning Show. George has recently come back to his roots and he is co-hosting on the nationally syndicated, Doug Banks Show. In addition to joining “The Doug Banks Show,” George continues to host his solo radio program, “Willborn’s World” on WHUR’s SiriusXM.
