M.Ward Booking Agency Profile

Book M.Ward for your next corporate event, function, or private party.
American singer-songwriter and guitarist Matthew Stephen Ward hails from Portland, Oregon. Since 1999, Ward has released a total of ten studio albums, the majority of which have been distributed independently by Merge Records. His solo work consists of a mixture of analog Americana recordings with folk and blues influences. He performs as a solo artist as well as being a member of the folk-rock band Monsters of Folk and the indie pop duo She and Him. He also records, produces, and performs with numerous other musicians. M. Ward was born and raised in Glendale, California, and after college he relocated to Portland, Oregon. Growing up, Ward taught himself Beatles tunes on his brother's guitar. When he was approximately fifteen, he started making demos on a four-track analog tape recorder. Ward continues to solely use analog recording equipment and creates all of his songs on the same recorder that he has been using since he was a teenager. The Neko Case album "The Worse Things, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You" featured guitar work by Ward in 2013. On Comedy Bang! Bang! on September 2, 2013, Neko mentioned that Ward not only contributed, but was also "paid in full.".

The final M.Ward booking price is contingent on many variables and the booking fee we may show is based on a range derived from our past experience with what will M.Ward charge for an event. An example fee to book M.Ward is in the starting range of $15,000-$24,999. However, any recent popularity change would cause a price fluctuation well beyond this example. Also, their speaking fee might be different than the fee shown for the cost to perform or to just appear. Popularity, career stage, along with current demand will cause fluctuations in their speaking price as well. The final booking price may be more than what is shown, but you should at least have a budget within that range for them to consider an appearance, performance or speaking engagement.
CTI negotiates on behalf of professional event planners and talent buyers for paid appearances! We cannot give out direct contact information of the M.Ward agent or help distribute fan mail, personal messages, gifts, requests for free appearances, or donations of time. There is low probability to book M.Ward for a party with anything substantially less than the published booking cost price range. We will negotiate with the M.Ward agent on your behalf if your funding is in place. By not having funding ready then it will more difficult to book M.Ward, because they get many offers to work events that are at or above asking price. It is also important to consider the travel costs when researching the M.Ward booking fee, as additional expenses like this, as well as an entourage of staff and equipment, are not necessarily built-in to the booking fee range shown. If your budget does not factor that in, then there is no benefit for them to want to be hired. We do not personally speak for M.Ward, but in our experience in booking talent for over 25 years, this is generally the outcome of inadequate funding.
