John Waite Booking Agency Profile

Book John Waite for your next corporate event, function, or private party.
English musician John Charles Waite plays music. He has eight studio albums under his own name and is best known for the hit track "Missing You," which peaked at number one on the UK Singles Chart and the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 1984. He also sang lead for the popular rock groups The Babys and Bad English. Waite attended Greaves Secondary Modern and Lancaster Art College after being born in Lancaster, Lancashire (The Storey Institute). Waite originally gained popularity as a musician while serving as the lead vocalist and bassist for the British rock band The Babys, which enjoyed modest chart success. The band amassed a strong fan base for their concert tours thanks to their two major songs, "Isn't It Time" (1977) and "Everytime I Think of You" (1979), which coincidentally both reached at number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. The band released five albums over the course of five years, the last of which, On the Edge, was released in October 1980. Thereafter, the band broke up. "Missing You," a duet with Alison Krauss that was released in 2006, peaked at number forty on the American Country Charts. On February 5th, 2007, Waite and Krauss appeared on The Tonight Show to perform the song. Songs by Waite have also been reissued in different forms of media: Warm Bodies, a 2013 film, featured "Missing You" prominently, while Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, a US film, has "Change" on its soundtrack..
