Beyries is the stage name of Canadian folk-pop singer and songwriter Amélie Beyries, who hails from the city of Montreal in the province of Quebec. Landing, her first studio album, was released in 2017, while Encounter, her sophomore album, is scheduled for release in 2020. Outremont, which is a neighborhood in Montreal, is where Beyries was both born and reared. She had a successful career in public relations up to the age of 28, when she received the news that she had breast cancer. She began writing songs to help her deal with her feelings while she was undergoing treatment, and she eventually completed her debut album with the assistance of producer Alex McMahon.

Landing, Beyries' first album to be recorded in a studio, was released on February 24, 2017. In spite of the fact that Beyries is fluent in French, the majority of the album is performed in English. The exception to this is the song "J'aurai cent ans," which is a duet with Louis-Jean Cormier and was written by Beyries and Maxime Le Flaguais together.
