Belief Booking Agency Profile

Book Belief for your next corporate event, function, or private party.
Prior to Belief, Bryan Hollon had already established himself as a multi-instrumentalist and producer who had been nominated for the Mercury Prize. Stella Mozgawa, the drummer for Warpaint, has provided percussion to albums by Kurt Vile, Cate le Bon, Courtney Barnett, Sharon Van Etten, and Kim Gordon, among others. Her list of credits is as significant. However, as the improvisational techno duo Belief, the two create music that is reminiscent of 90s bands like LFO and 808 State, who profoundly but largely unnoticed changed club and rave culture. These musicians were typically recognized by clear, bright logos on 12" sleeves. When Boom Bip and Warpaint shared a rehearsal space in Echo Park, Hollon first got to know Mozgawa shortly after she joined the band. The two grew close over their shared interest in early Warp Records, drum breaks, acid house, and rave flyers from the year 2000. When Mozgawa performed drums for Neon Neon's 2013 West Coast tour, they shared playlists and ideas, but because of their hectic schedules, it would be another three years before they hauled all of their equipment into Eric Wareheim's Absolutely Studios for their first jam session. Mozgawa was able to explore a genre of music she had long regarded as a gloomy art, and Hollon, known for his rigorous planning in earlier works, was forced to be more impromptu by playing instinctively to each other's talents and whims and recording the session to build on afterwards. The band's evolution became centered on improvisation. Over the course of the following four years, they managed to find sporadic free time to revisit the project, adding 303s whenever possible. In some of their early performances, they identified themselves as "Beef" in a playful nod to the project's throbbing minimalism. It was all in good fun, but as they finalized and recorded compositions with a more enigmatic and soulful tone, more respectful threads started to emerge..

Belief's current work schedule and location in relation to your event's type, date, budget, and locality will play a primary factor in the acceptance of booking Belief for your party. As long as your funding is commensurate with the price range to book Belief, CTI will propose your event to the official agency representing Belief. CTI can give you the accurate Belief booking price once we submit your event details to their camp. "How much does it cost to book Belief for an event?" is a frequent question we get. The final Belief booking price is contingent on many variables and the booking fee we may show is based on a range derived from our past experience with what will Belief charge for an event. An example fee to book Belief is in the starting range of $7,500-$14,999. However, any recent popularity change would cause a price fluctuation well beyond this example. Also, their speaking fee might be different than the fee shown for the cost to perform or to just appear. Popularity, career stage, along with current demand will cause fluctuations in their speaking price as well. The final booking price may be more than what is shown, but you should at least have a budget within that range for them to consider an appearance, performance or speaking engagement.
CTI negotiates on behalf of professional event planners and talent buyers for paid appearances! We cannot give out direct contact information of the Belief agent or help distribute fan mail, personal messages, gifts, requests for free appearances, or donations of time. The Belief manager and agent will only work with us if we present them with funded offers for their client to work your event.
There is low probability to book Belief for a party with anything substantially less than the published booking cost price range. We will negotiate with the Belief agent on your behalf if your funding is in place. By not having funding ready then it will more difficult to book Belief, because they get many offers to work events that are at or above asking price. It is also important to consider the travel costs when researching the Belief booking fee, as additional expenses like this, as well as an entourage of staff and equipment, are not necessarily built-in to the booking fee range shown. If your budget does not factor that in, then there is no benefit for them to want to be hired. We do not personally speak for Belief, but in our experience in booking talent for over 25 years, this is generally the outcome of inadequate funding.
