Calyx is a techstep-focused drum and bass group from the United Kingdom. It was previously a London-based partnership consisting of Larry Cons and Chris Rush, but Larry Cons is now working on it alone. In 1998, they made their debut on Moving Shadow's Audio Couture sublabel. With a few performances for Metalheadz and Renegade Hardware, the majority of their releases, including their first album No Turning Back (2005), have been for Moving Shadow. The video game Midnight Club 3 includes a number of Calyx hits. Grand Theft Auto III has Track Quagmire. He collaborated on the Anatomy album with fellow drum 'n' bass musician and longtime partner Teebee. It was released in September 2007. In November 2012, Ram Records released the second joint album by Calyx and Teebee, All or Nothing. He apparently collaborates with Phace on new songs. Drum 'n' bass and jungle production team headquartered in London Calyx was founded by drummer Chris Rush and guitarist Larry Cons, who had previously played in the jazz-funk group Octane. Before beginning their collaborative work and opening their own recording studio in Streatham, South London, the two met at Oxford Brookes University. "Cubic" and "Narcosis," which were published on Moving Shadow's sister label Audio Couture in February 1998, marked Calyx's debut. Chris Rush left the pair in 2000 after the "Catapult" EP was released to pursue a non-musical career, and Larry Cons has since carried on Calyx as a solo project. Since then, Larry has put out a number of songs, including the Moving Shadow "Wasteground" EP, the "Downpour" EP, and his Metalheadz debut, "Leviathan" / "Mindfold."
