American drummer Chad Gaylord Smith has been playing with the rock group Red Hot Chili Peppers since 1988. In 2012, the band was admitted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Smith is also the drummer for the all-instrumental group Chad Smith's Bombastic Meatbats, which was founded in 2007, as well as the hard rock supergroup Chickenfoot, which was founded in 2008. He collaborated with the Chicks on the 2007 album Taking the Long Way, which garnered five Grammy nominations.
