Jalen N'Gonda was born in Maryland in the United States, but he decided that the city of Liverpool, in the United Kingdom, would be the best environment for him to develop as a musician. At the age of 11, he began taking an interest in music, and it was his father's record collection of jazz, hip-hop, and soul that served as his primary source of motivation. Jalen has been doing live gigs all throughout the United Kingdom and further afield since since he moved to Liverpool. Two years later, Jalen began selling out headline gigs in Germany, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. He is also breaking into the Viral Charts on Spotify and is supporting touring performers at the Montreal Jazz Festival such as Laura Mvula, Martha Reeves, and Lauryn Hill.
