Rochelle Jordan seems ready to become well-known to people outside of the progressive electronic R&B crowd. The discography of the singer is flourishing. She had opened for Jessie Ware in the United States and was sampled by Special Request ("Soundboy Killer"), Childish Gambino ("Telegraph Ave.") and fellow Torontonian Drake ("Club Paradise"). Play with the Changes, an album with more vocal, lyrical and aural range than her prior albums, marks her comeback on TOKiMONSTA's Young Art label after being hindered for years by an ensuing label and management arrangement that turned out to be incredibly restrictive.
Early in the previous decade, Jordan developed a strong and long-lasting musical bond with burgeoning producer KLSH, who had found her through YouTube uploads of timeless 90s R&B covers. Her debut albums, Pressure and ROJO, were well-received on blogs and went on to define much of the best R&B of the decade. She swiftly followed it with Origins, which demonstrated her sound's astounding smoothness and uncanny effortlessness.
