Known for its contagious, club-ready sound, Overmono, a U.K. electronic duo, draws inspiration from hard-edged '90s rave, trance and breakbeat. They introduced it on the Arla EP and developed it further on Arla II and the EP Everything You Need.
Tom and Ed Russell, brothers who were raised in Wales, each had successful careers in electronic music before they started working together as Overmono. Tom was known for his hard-edged techno under the name Truss and Ed was known for his rave-instilled bass work under the name Tessela. For a brief period, the brothers also performed as the hardware-based techno duo TR/ER. The couple scheduled five days at an isolated cottage studio in Devon to flesh out their ideas in order to lessen the effect of their individual work from the mix.
The brothers' innovative blend of forward-thinking electronica drew the attention of pioneering British dance label XL Recordings, which signed them right away. The duo draws inspiration from their love of vintage rave music as well as early '90s trance and techno.
With its blend of huge room, trance-inspired arpeggiated melodies and dusty rave breaks, Overmono's debut EP, Arla, gained DJ play and favorable reviews when it was released. The follow-up, Arla II, debuted a few months later and it once more evoked the atmosphere of illegal outdoor raves and early-'90s British pirate radio stations. Thereafter, other standalone albums were released, such as Raft Living and Bromley/Still Moving with Joy Orbison..

The final Overmono booking price is contingent on many variables and the booking fee we may show is based on a range derived from our past experience with what will Overmono charge for an event. An example fee to book Overmono is in the starting range of $25,000-$39,999. However, any recent popularity change would cause a price fluctuation well beyond this example. Also, their speaking fee might be different than the fee shown for the cost to perform or to just appear. Popularity, career stage, along with current demand will cause fluctuations in their speaking price as well. The final booking price may be more than what is shown, but you should at least have a budget within that range for them to consider an appearance, performance or speaking engagement.
There is low probability to book Overmono for a party with anything substantially less than the published booking cost price range. We will negotiate with the Overmono agent on your behalf if your funding is in place. By not having funding ready then it will more difficult to book Overmono, because they get many offers to work events that are at or above asking price. It is also important to consider the travel costs when researching the Overmono booking fee, as additional expenses like this, as well as an entourage of staff and equipment, are not necessarily built-in to the booking fee range shown. If your budget does not factor that in, then there is no benefit for them to want to be hired. We do not personally speak for Overmono, but in our experience in booking talent for over 25 years, this is generally the outcome of inadequate funding.
