Irish vocalist Orla Gartland blends bedroom pop sensibilities with singer/songwriter folk and traditional Irish music influences. She debuted on the Irish streaming charts with "Devil on My Shoulder," her first official single and then followed it up with Roots, her second EP. She began writing and she released Woman on the Internet, her first full-length album. Gartland, a native of Dublin, began learning to play the violin, fiddle and other traditional instruments at the age of five. However, it wasn't until she took up the guitar at the age of 12 that she discovered her true vocation. She started posting cover songs online within a year and soon started making her own music.
As a result of the publication of her debut single, "Devil on My Shoulder," she was given support slots for the U.K. tours of Nina Nesbitt and Ryan O'Shaughnessy. The following year, her debut EP, Roots, was released and she embarked on a five-show headline tour of the United Kingdom. Later that year, in an effort to raise awareness of suicide prevention in Ireland, Gartland contributed the song "Cast Your Stone" to the Simple Things album. Gartland moved to London after the release of her second EP, Lonely People, took a little break from writing and then she returned with a third EP, Why Am I Like This She joined Irish Women in Harmony and helped them record a song called "Dreams" in support of the domestic abuse charity Safe Ireland..
