The beginnings of RITUAL may be traced to the friendship of producers Adam Gross and Tommy Baxter when they were both growing up in north London. Tommy and Adam rediscovered their connection and teamed up as a production combo after discovering that Tommy afterwards became a touring guitarist and Adam produced hip-hop tracks for independent U.K. acts. They then met Birmingham-born singer and songwriter Gerard O'Connell, who was employed by the Xenomania production company as a songwriter after performing in folk bands.
