Originally from New Zealand, multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer Finnegan Tui now resides in London. He has devoted his life to sound and has been obsessed with making music since playing his first gig at the age of six. Finn was given a scholarship to study jazz and electronic music at the Guildhall School of Music after relocating to the UK. Together with his studies, he made the most of every musical opportunity that came his way. He performed frequently throughout the city, wrote music for entire orchestras, accepted commissions from the Museum of London and Channel 4 and displayed sound pieces at the Tate Modern and the Barbican.
He met his manager three years into the program, at which point he started the process of producing and publishing his own music. He made the decision to leave Guildhall in order to devote himself fully to his artistic career and produce his debut album, "Zephyr," because this is what he had always wanted to do. Finn has worked on infusing complex sound design into his compositions with Niv Adiri in an effort to create immersive audio worlds for his music (Gravity and Batman).
Through somber folk-inspired ballads, Finnegan's melodies and lyrics probe the depths of human nature. His productions, which incorporate noises he records in forests or his kitchen, on rooftops or in the air, in the ocean, a stream or anyplace in between, show off his whimsical side..
