While making his way through the basement concert scene in the Twin Cities, Kabeya worked on Miloe's debut EP, releasing a number of drafts before settling on the finished product. Miloe was asked to open for Beach Bunny at a Minneapolis show after one of the band members heard his song. Jake Luppen of Hippo Campus, a spectator, was impressed by his performance and volunteered to assist in producing Kabeya's upcoming work.
