Born in Mexico on April 15th, 1997, gifted musician and composer Silvana Estrada is a native of Mexico. Due to the fact that both of her parents were luthiers, she was introduced to music at an early age. She got her start as a musician and performer in the bars of her birthplace of Coatepec, which is located in the state of Veracruz in Mexico. Estrada was admitted into a jazz program at the Universidad Veracruzana in Xalapa, which is located in the state of Veracruz, when she was 16 years old.

She began composing music when she was still in school, but instead of using a piano, she used a Venezuelan cuatro that had been given to her by her father. She was introduced to the American musician Charlie Hunter while she was attending a jazz course, and he made the proposition to collaborate with her. They made the recordings for the album Lo Sagrado in a cabin that was owned by Estrada's parents. The album was initially published in 2017 and is scheduled to receive a second release in the year 2020. In 2018, Estrada and Hunter collaborated on the production of a second album, which they titled Charlie Hunter/Carter McLean Featuring Silvana Estrada and which also featured contributions from an American drummer named Carter McLean.

In 2018, Estrada issued the EP Primeras Canciones, which contained four songs. She embarked on a tour in Mexico in 2019, during which she shared the stage with other Mexican musicians such as Natalia Lafourcade, Mon Laferte, and Julieta Venegas. She became the first Latin American musician to sign with the American label Glassnote Records in the year 2020, when she secured a contract with the company.

Marchita was Estrada's first album released under her own name and her third album overall. It was produced by Gustavo Guerrero and released on January 21, 2022. The album was met with praise from the reviewing community and was promoted with a solo tour across the United States..
