amilost is a group of three friends who have a strong musical background and a talent for crafting songs that transform unfiltered emotion into works of art. A Norwegian-British trio with a London base that blends varied musical influences: vocalist and producer Sigrid Zeiner-Gundersen received classical training in Oslo and was brought up on Grieg and Mozart, but later she began performing in a Scandinavian metal band. Ross Craib, a drummer and co-producer from Glasgow, got his start playing in hard rock bands but soon discovered that the softer sounds of alt-pop were more his style. Bassist Charlie Fowler from Cornwall was well-versed in both pop-rock and the surf scene.
Together, they create something special: female-led alt-pop that is simultaneously expansive and intensely personal. They play the kind of music that unites an audience in a single, overwhelming wave of feeling while still allowing each listener to have their own unique experience. Songs progress from hushed admissions to sparkling post-rock crescendos last heard from Sigur Ros. This sounds like grandiose rock-infused Scandinavian pop.
Their debut EP, Introspective Souvenirs, examines how our experiences change us on the inside—how our perspective of the world changes with each connection and each inner realization.
