That Dog Booking Agency Profile

Book That Dog for your next corporate event, function, or private party.
Rock group That Dog, with lead vocalist and guitarist Anna Waronker, bassist and vocalist Rachel Haden, violinist and vocalist Petra Haden, and drummer Tony Maxwell, was founded in Los Angeles in 1992. For their original music, the band received parallels to Redd Kross, Wednesday Week, Dolly Mixture, and Buzzcocks.

Waronker's sister is married to Steve McDonald of Redd Kross, and her father Lenny Waronker is a well-known figure in the music business. Charlie Haden, a jazz bassist, is the father of Petra and Rachel Haden. Rachel joined the band when they started playing Anna's quick punk tunes, with Anna and Petra already being close friends from high school. Drummer Tony Maxwell was added to the team.

Their self-titled debut album was published in 1992 on the independent label Magnatone Records in a limited run as a double 7", and was later reissued by Geffen on cassette and CD. Members of the group contributed to several of Beck and Weezer's B-sides while they were on tour together as labelmates.

They released Completely Crushed Out! in 1995, but the album received little attention and had a dismal tour, which made Waronker lose faith in the music business. The Ball-Hog or Tugboat album by Mike Watt included contributions by the band.

That Dog broke up in 1997 and came back together in 2011. Indie rock bands like Snail Mail and Soccer Mommy can hear the band's influence..

The final That Dog booking price is contingent on many variables and the booking fee we may show is based on a range derived from our past experience with what will That Dog charge for an event. An example fee to book That Dog is in the starting range of $15,000-$24,999. However, any recent popularity change would cause a price fluctuation well beyond this example. Also, their speaking fee might be different than the fee shown for the cost to perform or to just appear. Popularity, career stage, along with current demand will cause fluctuations in their speaking price as well. The final booking price may be more than what is shown, but you should at least have a budget within that range for them to consider an appearance, performance or speaking engagement.
CTI negotiates on behalf of professional event planners and talent buyers for paid appearances! There is low probability to book That Dog for a party with anything substantially less than the published booking cost price range. We will negotiate with the That Dog agent on your behalf if your funding is in place. By not having funding ready then it will more difficult to book That Dog, because they get many offers to work events that are at or above asking price. It is also important to consider the travel costs when researching the That Dog booking fee, as additional expenses like this, as well as an entourage of staff and equipment, are not necessarily built-in to the booking fee range shown. If your budget does not factor that in, then there is no benefit for them to want to be hired. We do not personally speak for That Dog, but in our experience in booking talent for over 25 years, this is generally the outcome of inadequate funding.
