Ives collaborated with co-producer Justin Raisen (Yves Tumor, Charli XCX) in Los Angeles after creating and handling the original production of this album's tracks at his Brooklyn home to carry out Janky Star's extended concept. The album, which Ives released while still in her mid-twenties, seems like she has matured. Throughout the 10 sophisti-pop tracks, there is more intentional silence that gives breathing room to some of her most honest and sensitive lyrics to date.
