Basement Revolver continued to write songs and record music despite the seeming end of the world; one band member quit and was replaced. However, they were unable to perform on tour, practice or record as normal. The band underwent severe reflection as a result of the time between producing material and being alone. Their most recent album is chock full of the tension in a closed-off society that yet demands production. As a consequence, the band had a clearer knowledge of the messages and narratives they wished to convey.
The Hamilton, Ontario-based indie dreamgaze band Basement Revolver has been performing together for more than six years. Nimal Agalawatte and Chrisy Hurn-Morrison, their co-leaders, have been friends for a very long time. Their career got off to a fast start when the UK label signed them out of worry that they would lose the momentum of their breakthrough track, "Johnny Pt 2." They swiftly released three EPs in response—an eponymous one, Agatha, Wax and Digital. Later that year, a full-length, titled Heavy Eyes, was published.
