Happa, also known as Samir Alikhanizadeh, began releasing UK Bass & Techno music on Soundcloud. Tastemakers like Loefah, Skream, Annie Mac and Ben UFO praised him right away. The same year, he started mixing exclusive sets for Mary Anne Hobbs' XFM program and Mixmag's "Mix of the Week" while also remixing Vondelpark (R&S) and Four Tet (Text).
His debut 12-inch record, on the underground London label CHURCH, garnered greater attention. Young Samir showed his orientation shifting towards the harder techno side of electronic music with certain special recordings from Happa that were released on Boomkat and as a part of Bleep's Green Series.
In the course of his DJ career, he has performed at some of the most prominent clubs and festivals in Europe, including, to mention a few, Bestival, Glastonbury, Dimensions Outlook, ADE, Warehouse Project, Golden Pudel, Sonar and Trouw. Along with the release of his critically praised "PT1 EP," Happa established his own record label, "Part Five Records," which signaled a qualitative turning point in his career. His ability to combine pounding beats with dark, menacing environments had become razor sharp and he had developed a laser-like understanding of the foreboding bass.
