With friend and partner Colin Padalecki, the Texas native has been steadily gaining momentum over the past few years with their popular duo, SURFACES, who were just months away from releasing their third self-produced album, Horizons. The Houston-born musician, however, yearned for the ability to create music only for himself once more, as he'd done for eight hours a day in his college bedroom, lectures and homework be damned. He had temporarily shelved the idea of pursuing solo endeavors in order to continue building on the success of his band. Forrest got a bunch of friends and, feeling that a change of scenery was necessary, set off for a remote cliffside Airbnb on the northern California coast.
The ten years that producer and vocalist Forrest has spent honing his craft are reflected in his expansive, attention-grabbing new project. From his early days of recording himself singing in the front seat of his car to his years of playing around with beats on his iPhone in his bedroom, he never imagined that he would one day be playing to packed houses, working with Elton John, and hosting late-night talk shows with a huge hit single under his belt.
