With a captivating blend of folk, electronica, pop/rock, and trip-hop, Icelandic singer/songwriter Emilíana Torrini initially gained recognition in the late 1990s, drawing comparisons to mysterious vocalists of the time like as Bjork and Kirsty Hawkshaw. Torrini's initial international recognition came from Love in the Time of Science in 1999, and her fame was further enhanced by a significant soundtrack presence on the Lord of the Rings movie The Two Towers in 2002.
