Primus Booking Agency Profile

Book Primus for your next corporate event, function, or private party.
Primus is a rock band, currently made up of singer and bassist Les Claypool, guitarist Larry Ler" LaLonde, and drummer Tim "Herb" Alexander. The diversity of their sound has allowed Primus to gain a modest segment of fans from many different rock sub-genres. They are characterized by their irreverent approach to music. Primus release their records on Claypool's Prawn Song Records label, a parody of Led Zeppelin's Swan Song label. Primus' musical style is difficult to define. While the band is usually considered by critics to be funk metal or alternative metal, Primus has been called everything from "thrash-funk meets Don Knotts, Jr." to "alternative rock" to "the Freak Brothers set to music." An easy description can be that they are an avant-garde metal band. Les Claypool himself once described their music as "psychedelic polka." Although not a thrash metal band, Primus was heavily associated with the Bay Area thrash scene in their early years. A few of the studio albums the band has released include Sailing the Seas of Cheese, Pork Soda, Tales from the Punchbowl, Brown Album, Green Naugahyde, and Primus & the Chocolate Factory with the Fungi Ensemble. .

CTI can give you the accurate Primus booking price once we submit your event details to their camp. "How much does it cost to book Primus for an event?" is a frequent question we get. The final Primus booking price is contingent on many variables and the booking fee we may show is based on a range derived from our past experience with what will Primus charge for an event. An example fee to book Primus is in the starting range of $75,000-$149,999. However, any recent popularity change would cause a price fluctuation well beyond this example. Also, their speaking fee might be different than the fee shown for the cost to perform or to just appear. Popularity, career stage, along with current demand will cause fluctuations in their speaking price as well. The final booking price may be more than what is shown, but you should at least have a budget within that range for them to consider an appearance, performance or speaking engagement.
CTI negotiates on behalf of professional event planners and talent buyers for paid appearances! We cannot give out direct contact information of the Primus agent or help distribute fan mail, personal messages, gifts, requests for free appearances, or donations of time. The Primus manager and agent will only work with us if we present them with funded offers for their client to work your event.
There is low probability to book Primus for a party with anything substantially less than the published booking cost price range. We will negotiate with the Primus agent on your behalf if your funding is in place. By not having funding ready then it will more difficult to book Primus, because they get many offers to work events that are at or above asking price. It is also important to consider the travel costs when researching the Primus booking fee, as additional expenses like this, as well as an entourage of staff and equipment, are not necessarily built-in to the booking fee range shown. If your budget does not factor that in, then there is no benefit for them to want to be hired. We do not personally speak for Primus, but in our experience in booking talent for over 25 years, this is generally the outcome of inadequate funding.
