Blind Melon is an American rock band that was formed in 1990 in Los Angeles, California. The band originally consisted of Rogers Stevens on guitar, Brad Smith with the bass, vocalist Shannon Hoon, Christopher Thron on rhythm guitar, and Glen Graham on the drums. In 1993, the band had a popular single titled No Rain. Its commercial and critical success brought Blind Melon to the headlines of concerts. In 1995, shortly after the start of the tour promoting their second album, Soup, lead singer Shannon Hoon died from an overdose and crippled the band's career. They band attempted to continue forward with a new vocalist, but they were not successful until 2006. Blind Melon recorded another album in 2008 titled, For My Friends, with Travis Warren as the new lead singer. .
