He grew up in Zionsville, Indiana where he starred on the Zionsville Community High School basketball team and set four records. Brad started his coaching career as a volunteer at the Butler Basketball program and shortly thereafter became assistant coach, and head coach. During his third year as head coach, Brad broke the NCAA record for most wins in a coachs first three years. He coached butler to the first Final Four in school history. Brad became the second youngest head coach to make a NCAA National Championship game and the youngest coach to go to two Final Fours. Brad signed a six-year 22 million dollar contract to become the Boston Celtics head coach. .
