She started with the band at the young age of 15. They were apart of the West Coast punk rock scene. Their single “Cherry Bomb” gained them commercial success and became the teenage rock anthem of 1976. The Runaways disbanded and Currie went to pursue a solo career. As a solo artist, she recorded three albums as well, Beauty’s Only Skin Deep, Messin’ with the Boys, and Young and Wild. Two of her albums were recorded alongside twin sister, Marie Currie.
