Rhett Miller, the band’s lead vocalist and primary songwriter, has described the Old 97’s sound as “loud folk”. Other members of the band include lead guitarist Ken Bethea, bass player Murry Hammond, and drummer Philip Peeples. They’ve released eleven studio albums. Their tenth album, “Most Messed Up” reached the No.30 spot on the Billboard 200.
