At the age of thirteen, Miguel began to pursue his career in music. He initially signed with the independent record label Black Ice, but eventually signed with Jive Records and released his debut studio album, “All I Want Is You”. Miguel was also providing material for Usher's albums “Here I Stand & Raymond v. Raymond”, as well as Asher Roth’s album “Asleep in the Bread Aisle”. When Jive Records shut down, Miguel was acquired by RCA records and produced “Kaleidoscope Dream”. The album was an instant success, debuting at number three on the Billboard 200. The album’s lead song, “Adorn”, became a chart topper, reaching number 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Billboard Hot 100. Miguel recorded his third album “Wildheart”, which earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album.
