Bob Brown, also known as “The Boomer,” is a former professional American football offensive tackle who played in the NFL. Brown was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and he began his career playing college football at the University of Nebraska. While playing at the University of Nebraska, Brown was an All-America selection at guard, and was voted the offensive lineman of the year by the Washington D.C. Touchdown Club. Brown went on to be drafted in both the AFL draft and the NFL draft by the Philadelphia Eagles in the first round, second overall pick. He signed with the Eagles and during his first year, he was named NFL Rookie of the Year. After playing with the Eagles for four years, Brown went on to play for the Los Angeles Rams for a year and then the Oakland Raiders for two years. Over the course of his career, Brown was a six-time Pro Bowl selection, a five-time First-team All-Pro, a four-time Second-team All-Pro, has been on the NFL 1960’s All-Decade Team, and has been inducted into the Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Fame.
