Lynch was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and he began his career playing college football at Butler University where he was a quarterback and led the nation in pass percentage. Lynch went on to begin working as an assistant coach at Butler after he graduated and worked as quarterback coach, wide receiver coach and offensive coordinator coach. Lynch then went on to work as a coach with colleges such as Northern Illinois, Orlando Renegades, Butler, Ball State, and Indiana.
