Howard Twilley was a former American professional football wide receiver who played in the NFL for the Miami Dolphins the entirety of his career. Twilley was born in Houston, Texas, and he began his career playing football in high school before going on to play college football at the University of Tulsa. During his time playing college football, Twilley was a unanimous All-American and he went on to be runner up for the Heisman Trophy. He also set NCAA records for most receiving yards in a season at 1,779, and for most receptions in a season at 134. Twilley was then selected in the 14th round of the NFL draft and was also selected in the 12th round of the AFL draft. He ended up playing with the Miami Dolphins and during his time playing with the Dolphins, he helped them to win two Super Bowl championships. Twilley finished his NFL career with 212 receptions, 3,064 receiving yards, and 23 receiving touchdowns. He has since gone on to begin a business career and has owned numerous stores of The Athlete’s Foot before selling them, and has also worked in an investment firm. He has gone on to be inducted into the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame and College Football Hall of Fame..
